If there’s a World Cup for war criminals, Trump wins “bigly,” to use one of his boasting words. His five-month aggression against Iran is a litany of own goals.

The late Senator-for-War Lindsey Graham might qualify as a runner-up.

After failing to force Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to return the crucial passage for oil trade to the way it was before he launched his war in February, Trump is now threatening a “massive offensive” to wipe out civilian infrastructure. In short, state terrorism to “win”.

Oil prices are rebounding again, and his cronies are getting even richer on the stock market racket. Iranian people are dying, and the world watches in horror as food price inflation intensifies mass hunger. Can there be anything as abhorrent as Trump’s White House crime syndicate?

The tentative Memorandum of Understanding negotiated last month to end the violence is dead in the water as the U.S. and Iran exchange fire. The MoU was supposed to be Trump’s victory terms to Tehran. It looks like Iran didn’t get that version of the memo that the U.S. president had in his febrile imagination. Iran is not backing down or rolling over as this psychopath expects everyone that he encounters to do.

And so the “art of the deal” self-styled business genius is demanding that Iran get to the table for more negotiations with a gun cocked to its head, or so Trump thinks.

“Next week it gets really bad for them,” Trump said. “We’re going to knock out all their power plants. We’re going to knock out all their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate.”

But hold on, didn’t he already win the war? Trump loves winning so much that over the past five months, he has hailed victory over Iran on no less than 32 occasions. Thirty-two wins. What a “genius” – for delusional lies.

Resuming the bombing of Iran this week for consecutive days and with seven-hour waves of airstrikes is, presumably, Trump wanting to “win again.”

Trump, the rich-boy real estate mogul and Vietnam War draft dodger, is like the Mad Hatter of Alice in Wonderland. His reality is whatever he says it is.

He’s named in the still-redacted Epstein files as a sexual predator and friend of the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. But that’s all “fake news”. And that scandal has been conveniently blown out of the public interest by his aggression on Iran, another “forever war” of the sort that he promised to put an end to when he was re-elected.

This week, Trump was ordered by the federal courts to pay $5 million in damages to writer E Jean Carroll for sexual assault 3o years ago. But that’s all a hoax, he says, as he gets back to winning in Iran.

Trump’s aggression against Iran was unprovoked and based on lies about the Islamic Republic’s alleged nuclear threat. In July 2025, he ordered a 12-day “beautiful” bombing campaign on Iran’s civilian nuclear program, which he claimed had erased everything to “dust”. So, he wanted to win again when he returned to aggression on February 28 this year, claiming that Iran was still a nuclear threat, and while he was at it, murdering Iran’s religious leader, Seyed Ali Khamenei, and his family. On the same day, U.S. and Israeli warplanes murdered 160 children in a deliberate multiple strike on a school.

Trump has repeatedly threatened to use nuclear weapons on Iran, warning that a “whole civilization” will be obliterated.

Comparing Trump to a Mafia don is an insult to organized crime. He is not a Capo who takes out enemies here and there. Trump is the head of a state terrorist machine that kills en masse.

His threat to take out power plants, bridges, and water desalination facilities is an explicit violation of international law. The 1949 Geneva Convention on the conduct of war forbids the destruction of civilian infrastructure. Trump is a self-indicted war criminal.

Bragging about committing genocide is a measure of the moral and mental degeneracy of this American president.

In truth, though, all American presidents over the past century are liable for war crimes as the unparalleled record for warmongering and state terrorism of the United States attests.

What makes Trump particularly odious is his narcissism and cognitive disconnect. He is insane.

He rapes and destroys nations as he does with individuals and yet declares himself a “winner.” Constantly.

Sooner or later, the objective reality of his limits will hit, eventually. He no doubt thinks that mid-term elections coming up in November can be overturned with claims of “fake elections” and assertions that “the people really love me”.

However, the hard reality of Iran’s military and geographic power as the ultimate controller of the Strait of Hormuz is sealing the fate of Donald Trump even if he is delusional. He can’t bomb Iran into submission; he can’t avert damage to the U.S. and global economy; he can’t blockade Iran or impose his protection racket of a 20 per cent toll on international shipping.

Rich boy Trump got out of the Vietnam War by claiming a false medical condition in his feet while 58,000 Americans and three million Vietnamese were killed in that criminal enterprise.

It’s poetic justice that, as an 80-year-old lifetime huckster, he can’t get out of his war on Iran no matter how many lies and delusions are told. He’s up to his neck due to a different medical condition – criminal insanity.

Beyond the downfall of Trump, which is gratifying to a point, the people of America and the world have to understand that the problem goes deeper than this repugnant president. It’s the American capitalist system that drives wars and war criminals in the White House. Trump is merely a disgusting symptom of a despicable political-economic disease. (Warmonger Lindsey Graham, who kicked the bucket this week, was another symptom.)

By all means, prosecute Trump as a criminal. But the entire rotten system of dehumanizing exploitation and relentless warmongering needs to be prosecuted and vanquished – before it destroys humanity.

A world based on justice, peace, and serving human needs, instead of private profit, is possible. But not while the likes of Trump and the system that vomits him up are tolerated.
