For people who have been following events in Ukraine closely, the news of a torture dungeon is not surprising.

Europe is already erupting with mass protests over impossible living costs and poverty. What’s going to happen when it becomes widely known that the economic hardship has been caused in large part by the funding of barbarism under the corrupt NeoNazi regime in Ukraine?

Russian and Ukrainian news reports and social media clips went viral across the world this week, showing extraordinary scenes of people being beaten by riot police and masked thugs outside a secret detention center near Kiev.

Notably, and very tellingly, Western media did not report on this shocking barbarism. Why not? To cover up, of course, lest Western citizens find out what their governments have been spending their money on.

Families and neighbors tried to storm the private dwelling, which, it emerged, the NeoNazi Azov battalion was using as a torture dungeon as part of an extortion racket.

Detainees were evacuated under duress, some of whom were obviously injured and traumatized. One of them was a 14-year-old boy who could barely walk from his shocking ordeal. He later claimed that he had been severely beaten inside the building by men wearing balaclavas.

On the very day that this news was breaking, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, was being hosted in Berlin by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The German state gave the Ukrainian dictator (unelected “president”) a full military guard of honor, as well as an extra €200 million “winter bonus”.

Merz and Zelensky stood in front of Bundeswehr forces while listening to the national anthems of Germany and Ukraine. The optics were clearly to convey “comrades in arms”. The widely despised chancellor, who has vowed to make Germany the biggest military power in Europe, is fully behind the NeoNazi regime in Ukraine in a war that is becoming ever more an overt re-run of 1941’s Operation Barbarossa.

The next day, the European Commissioner and former German defense minister, Ursula von der Leyen, announced a €4.3 billion installment to the Kiev regime as part of a bigger subvention of €90 bn for 2026 and 2027.

The EU’s unelected top bureaucrat, who, like Chancellor Merz, has a family heritage of Nazi affiliation, said the money was for Ukraine’s “defense” against (alleged) Russian aggression and was based on the Kiev regime progressing with reforms and anti-corruption. Reforms? While running torture centers?

Since the NATO proxy war in Ukraine escalated in February 2022, the EU has donated a total of €236 bn to Kiev. That’s just the declared figure. It may well be much more when under-the-table payments are finally documented. The European führers talk vaguely and disingenuously about the donations being raised through “capital markets” or by seizing Russia’s frozen assets. No, these eye-watering sums are being robbed from present and future generations of Europeans to pay for Lebensraum 2.0.

The fact is that European citizens are funding a proxy war that has caused millions of casualties, a war that could have been settled through negotiations four years ago, but which has continued because it is a giant money-making racket for Zelensky and his corrupt regime as well as for European politicians shilling for the military corporations.

A central operation in this racket, it is becoming apparent in grotesque form, is the tooth-and-nail draconian conscription of Ukrainian men who are shipped off to the front-line meat grinder. This is not some kind of honorable war effort to “defend” their country. It is a systematic extortion racket. Men snatched off the streets or from their homes are held ransom until their families pay up to $20,000 for their release. If the money is not paid, the “recruits” are sent to die.

The use of torture on detainees is a form of acute pressure (terrorism) on families to find the ransom. For added sadistic cruelty, there is no guarantee that a person released will not be captured at a later date, only for his family to have to go through the ordeal again.

This is what was uncovered this week at the house of horror near Kiev. But, as a few courageous Ukrainian lawmakers dared to comment, the secret prison is only one of hundreds located across the country.

Artyom Dmitruk, a member of the Ukrainian parliament (Verkhovna Rada), said: “The same thing happens at hundreds of other places. People are abducted and tortured. Some are sold to military units. Others are sold back to their relatives.”

He added: “The weaker ones simply die from torture.”

For people who have been following events in Ukraine closely, the news of a torture dungeon is not surprising.

Independent journalists working in Ukraine since the CIA-backed coup in 2014 have reported on how the NeoNazi battalions that make up the armed forces have used terror centers to hold people whom they regarded as “pro-Russian”.

However, the human-trafficking networks have evolved on an industrial scale, operating across Ukraine and hunting down everyone who is not part of the elite.

Vasily Prozorov, a former Lt. Colonel in the Ukrainian secret services (SBU), says that the Azov and other NeoNazi battalions are working with the SBU commanders to run the detention centers. He points out that the main objective is not recruiting foot soldiers to fight against Russia but to stock up on human material that can be traded.

Prozorov is a formidable whistleblower on the corruption of the Kiev regime. His “Ukraine Leaks” site makes for disturbing reading about the horrors committed by the regime and its enforcers. “Recruitment” is a euphemism for kidnapping. “Processing centers” is another euphemism for torture and extortion.

Ukraine has degenerated into a giant concentration camp where ordinary citizens are preyed upon by a regime and its goons for every vice imaginable, from child-sex networking to organ harvesting to torture-or-ransom blackmail. The SBU commanders also oversee scam phone call centers that have stolen millions of Euros from European citizens through fraud, as The Islander channel highlighted this week.

There is no doubt that the criminal enterprise is operating with the complicity of the regime’s top ranks.

As soon as scenes of chaos broke out at the detention center near Kiev this week, the chief of Zelensky’s staff, Kirill Budanov, arrived to quell the disturbances. In a clumsy ad hoc comment to the angry crowd, he actually admitted that there are many more such sites across Ukraine, which he assured would be investigated.

Also quickly on the scene was Alexander Pivnenko, the head of the National Guard, whose Azov 1st Corps owned the premises with the torture basement.

How did such senior people arrive so quickly if they did not already know about it? Their prompt response indicates that they were turning up to appease and cover up.

Former Ukrainian MP Vladimir Oleinik remarked: “Budanov was simply putting on a show, pretending the country’s authorities would launch an investigation. In reality, he and other officials are getting a cut of the money from Ukraine’s secret prisons.”

The ex-lawmaker predicted that ordinary Ukrainian are so incensed by this and countless other corruption scandals that the atmosphere is ready to explode with an uprising against the regime.

A similar combustible situation might be said for other European countries. Tens of millions of people have taken to the streets of Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and elsewhere in fury at the economic hardship and social inequality that elitist governments have imposed with impunity. Add to that, and when it becomes more widely known that citizens are suffering because their money is being used to prop up a fascist, barbaric regime that is torturing and killing its own people, then all bets are off as to what comes next. Von der Leyen, Merz, Macron, Kallas, Rutte, and such like might want to stay away from lampposts.

That would explain why Western media have reported nothing on the torture dungeons. Their job is to keep the lid on such explosive information.

Hell to pay when Western citizens realize they are funding a regime torturing its own people
