Venezuela’s main problem is that it is fabulously rich not only in oil and gas but in a wide range of other precious commodities and the United States has always wanted to control not only those resources but all similar riches throughout the Americas at least since the time of the 1823 Monroe Doctrine. Although we could rabbit on here about the CIA’s regime change record in Latin America, there is no point, as all of that should be as well known as should be the White House’s collusion with Latin America’s cocaine barons and the CIA’s murder by a thousand media cuts of journalist Gary Webb for exposing all of that.

Had Venezuelan President Maduro been as complicit in the CIA’s cocaine running as Panama’s Noriega was before he fell out of favour and got banged up in a Yankee gulag, then Maduro would be on easy street but, because his cards have played out otherwise, a massive Yankee invasion fleet lurks off the Venezuelan coast with the same ill designs on Maduro as the Yanks have had on all other Latino democrats and/or autocrats who did not meekly toe their line.

Though Trump’s current casus belli is that Maduro is pumping tonnes of fentanyl into the States, there is no need for me to discredit that porkie as PBS, World Politics Review, the Orinoco Tribune and even the hard line New York Times are among the many media outlets that have easily debunked those claims, which are also contradicted by the recent extradition of Chinese fentanyl drug lord Zhi Dong Zhang from Mexico to the United States.

Not that any of that matters in the least as this Yankee outlet tells us that “Venezuela’s supersonic anti-ship missiles are a real threat to American warships” while this report sings the praises of Maduro’s 5,000 Russian Igla-S surface to air missiles and the New York Times tells us that Trump, Bay of Pigs style, has an entire armada lurking off Venezuela’s coast in the “Global South” client state of Trinidad & Tobago (which lies within spitting distance of the Venezuelan coast) whilst also infiltrating an entire legion of CIA Special Forces terrorists into Venezuela to stir the pot. And into neighbouring Colombia as well as their President, who is now on Trump’s hit list, had the temerity to object to Trump’s Venezuelan criminality.

Not that the Yanks act alone as this report on America’s joint naval drills with mighty Trinidad & Tobago and this other excellent RT piece on Norway granting some war mongering Venezuelan nobody their Nobel Peace Prize shows, as does the recent elevation to sainthood of some Venezuelan medic which led to ungodly fist fights in the Vatican.

To say that Maduro and Venezuelan civil society is cheesed off with Trinidad & Tobago is the mother of all understatements. Leave aside that Caracas has suspended its energy agreements with Port of Spain and recall that Trinidad & Tobago has one of the world’s weakest defence forces and that it its entire air force consists of two (2) Fairfield C26 Metroliners and four (4) AW139 choppers which are currently doing joint military drills with some 20% of the entire Yankee navy in what is nothing more than a flimsy fig leaf to shake down Venezuela on the pretext that Caracas and not crime-ridden Port of Spain is a lawless cocaine conduit.

Although Latin America has always been rich in treacherous, good for nothing, two headed snakes, the Yanks must take primary responsibility for turning it and countries like the Philippines historically affiliated to it over again and again; even Simón Bolívar, their supposed liberator, said as much when he lamented that trying to put Latin America on an even keel was like trying to control the ocean’s wildest currents.

Frankly, Latin America, its three power centres of Mexico, Brazil and Argentina in particular, remains a mess and it is no wonder that Uncle Sam continues to have the run of the place. How can China take any of these jokers seriously when 80 year old Nicaraguan nutter Daniel Ortega wants them to squander hundreds of billions of dollars and God knows how many lives blasting a Panama canal 2.0 through his fiefdom and certifiable Argentinian lunatic Javier Milei is squandering hundreds of billions more as fast as the Yanks can launder their money through that ponce’s (less than) good offices?

And, as for Maduro, himself, Christ on a bike! What is all this about getting “foreign brigades” to enlist in his Simon Bolívar Internationalist Brigade? What can they do besides ride around in braided uniforms like Bolívar himself and that Italian chancer, Garibaldi? Taking a horse to a hi tech Yankee naval bombardment, no gracias.

Let’s be quite clear what is happening here. Trump is putting the final touches to assembling a naval task force off Venezuela’s coast that only India, Japan, China or Russia would be strong enough to withstand, albeit at great cost and that Venezuela has not a hope this side of Judgement Day of withstanding for even a day. And, as for taking to the jungles, good luck with that and say hello to the monkeys, jaguars and anacondas because the United States has no interest in playing hide and go seek games there. All she wants is all of Venezuela’s vast wealth and, if God smiles on her, to break Colombia and Cuba as well while she is at it. It has never been any different.

But none of that can excuse this wanton American racket, which has been allowed to fester for far too long, which I have seen up close and personal in Mexico but which I am more familiar with in the case of Syria, where my friends tell me that ISIS patrols are active everywhere, kidnapping, raping and robbing at will and all with the backing of Uncle Sam, MI6 and all the usual suspects.

And, although ISIS are not as active in Venezuela as the CIA might like them to be, there are enough snotrags there as well as in all of Latin America for the Yanks to roll over the ordinary Venezuelans as they have rolled over and raped so many other innocents before them from one end of Latin America to the other.

On a tangentially connected note, Russia Today has opened a contest for young writers “to share their vision of the future of humanity, society, and the planet”. Although I am not a judge, I would give the award to this little 5th grade girl telling her little American 5th grade classmates that her fellow Americans should stop killing, mutilating and raping other little 5th grade schoolgirls. That little American schoolgirl was Rachel Corrie, who was later murdered in Gaza by an Israeli soldier, who drove over her in an American supplied bulldozer, thus disqualifying her from this competition, which, hopefully other Russian, Gazan, Syrian, American and Latino children, who have not yet been murdered, will all shine at.

But the Bible tells us that such daydreams are for old men and that, immaculate though fairy stories like Rachel Corrie’s childish one was, they cannot become reality until warmongering nations like the United States are totally and irrevocably defanged. And that cannot happen until there is a change of approach by those, great and small, Uncle Sam is hell bent on exterminating. Unless Maduro wants to end up in Assad’s spare room and unless he wants to be calumnied as much as Assad, Soleimani or those others who did not take the soup were, he best really up his game and get some big players to have his back for him.

But not necessarily Chinese as they proved useless when Duterte was kidnapped at Manila Airport and rendered off to NATO’s sinecured hypocrites in the Hague on the convenient charge of whacking drug pushers, a criminal profession which includes Pentagon insider, USMC Lt Colonel and all round American boy Ollie North but most likely excludes Maduro, a pendantic point as the Yanks don’t care about innocence or guilt only, like the Romans on whom they cravenly model themselves, on servile wretches who, like Zelensky, Starmer, Macron and the rest of them, will willingly squirm and wriggle under their yoke.

Although Beijing has made some pathetic noises about this latest bout of Yankee intervention, we can discount their bleating not only because that is all they ever do but because their lack of a blue water navy makes them largely irrelevant to what happens to Maduro and, more importantly his people, who should be able to peaceably live out their lives without the American godfathers of violence periodically slaughtering them.

Other than abhorring his Latino moustache and being sceptical about his passion for showing the Yankees he holds free, fair and transparent elections, I don’t know much about Maduro but nor do I have to for the same reason a butcher does not have to know the life story of any random pig that ends up in his slaughter house. Maduro is simply the latest Latino the Yanks have put on their chopping block and, like the Roman theatres of old, the ignorant mob are being goaded to demand his head on a platter and the rest of his body on a spit.

Aleixo, Árbenz, Aristide, Assad, Austin, Barre, Bosch, Compaoré, Debayle, Duvalier, Estrada, Gaddafi, Gallegos, Jango, Kabila, Imran Khan, Lumumba, Luz, Momoh, Morales, Mosaddedh, Nguema, Noriega, Perez, Ravalomanana, Sankara, Suharto, Yanukovych, Whitlam. Though the list is endless, with Maduro, they form a constellation of saints and sinners, with one common denominator, the intrusion of the United States of America and her lackeys into the internal affairs of their respective countries and a snap shot of the untold millions the United States Marine Corps has murdered from the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli. Blessed be the peacemakers and innocents at large like Nicolás Maduro and Rachel Corrie as well.
