Russia’s Paralympians should know not only that they are standing on the shoulders of Russia’s grateful giants but, with the Vietnamese and other civilised people, they are opening the page on a newer and brighter page of history.

The key difference to keep in mind when comparing efforts to kick Israel out of various international sporting and cultural competitions to the largely successful campaigns waged against Russia is Russia is peripheral to Big Business’ cultural demands but Israel is central to them.
While it is true that Russia is a sporting Titan, NATO can not only happily survive without her, but she can thrive, as there are more medals and trophies to go around and the Russian market is not vital to the business interests that ponce off those competitions. Booting Russia out of everything from the Eurovision song contest to the Paralympics (sadly, you read that right) is a small price to keep in the Pentagon’s good books and, therefore, to stay in business.
The forthcoming 2026 World Cup is an excellent example in that regard as three nations, including the United States, are hosting the finals, thus ensuring all three of them, including the United States, are automatically included in the finals. This makes good commercial sense as it allows FIFA to continue to milk the lucrative North American market and the fact that a lot more countries will make the finals means increased revenue flows from the television stations who will pay kings’ ransoms to showcase this spectacle. As long as Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France, England, Italy and a few other television powers make the final cut in America and later at the 2034 finals in Saudi Arabia, the money will roll in and persecuting Russia is a small price to pay to keep Uncle Sam smiling.
Although Trump has invited Putin to watch the 2026 World Cup Final in New Jersey, Putin would be well advised to boycott it, as it would only go to make him look like a freak act in the ongoing circus of Trump, who is busily organising a world wide MMA tournament on the grounds of the White House for whatever narcissistic reasons that drive that orange-skinned fruit cake. Because the Russian team was not allowed to participate, Putin should stay at home and give solace in the form of bravery medals earned ten times over to Russia’s excluded Paralympians.
Although the boycotting campaigns against Russia and Israel have superficial similarities, they are only skin deep as the anti-Russian campaign has been a top down affair, whereas the vast amount of the world’s athletes and their supporters are sickened to their back teeth by the actions of the Israelis, their traveling supporters included. Because being revolted and being able to do something about that revulsion are not the same thing, Israel has not yet been shown the red card in football or most other sporting and cultural competitions.
As these links here, here and here show, the United States and POTUS Trump in particular have made it plain that boycotting Israel would spell economic disaster and personal ruin for anyone taking an effective stand against those monsters. Being brave is one thing but being suicidally stupid is another and, as long as the USMC has Israel’s genocidal back, Israel is going nowhere.
Much the same goes for the Eurovision Song Contest, which has long been little more than a narcissistic orgy of LGBT nihilism, but which has the advantage of showcasing Israel and far away Australia as run of the mill European hedonistic idylls epitomised in such Ossie soapies as Neighbours and Skippy, the Bush Kangaroo. But because having LGBT parades for one legged kangaroos and koala bears with dependency issues does not sit well with slaughtering new born babies in Gaza, even the Zionist strongholds of Melbourne and Sydney are witnessing gigantic protests against Israel and their supremacist ways.
Although the European Broadcasting Union, which runs Eurovision, is to vote on excluding Israel, my bet is that Israel will stay and countries like Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, the Netherlands and Iceland, which want Israel excluded, will instead find themselves locked outside of that annual nothing burger. Israel’s bet is that it is all hot air, that the fuss will blow over, that normality will return and that they will stay in good stead with the international community, and be allowed to get on with their job of genociding their neighbours.
Although the Eurovision Song Contest is a mickey mouse NATO event, Israeli President Herzog has a point that excluding Israel might well be the thin end of the civilisation wedge being deployed against his apartheid state. Witness these links here, here and here showing the Israel-Premier Tech cycling team being chased off the streets of Spain and Italy, or these links here, here and here showing West Belfast Irish MMA fighter Paddy McCorry giving former Israeli soldier Shuki Farage an unmerciful beating as he kept roaring Free Palestine in Farage’s ear until Farage tapped out. No invite to Trump’s White House Fight Club for McCorry but, as they say in his parts, he will never have to pay for his own pint again in most of the civilised world.
Speaking of which, though Vietnam’s victories both in “Putin’s” revised Intervision Song Contest and in South East Asia’s recent ASEAN Cup are both steps in the right direction, the time for fun and games is over and the time to revisit the true meaning of boycotting, so named after Charles Boycott whom the Irish unmercifully harried, has returned. Not only should Israel be booted out of every competition there is but her economy should continue to tank and no Israeli citizen should be allowed hold a second passport and, taking a cue from Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary, no one should “bother with” Israel until that apartheid state is dismantled and driven to the same sort of wretched end as was Charles Boycott’s.
And, as for Putin’s Paralympians, they should rest easy; knowing not only that they are standing on the shoulders of Russia’s grateful giants but, with the Vietnamese and other civilised people, they are opening the page on a newer and brighter page of history where everyone, from Putin’s Paralympians to the untold orphans of Gaza are treated with the respect that is their birthright and that of all civilised peoples.
