Following the 20 February 2025 return from Gaza to Israel of the remains of babies Kfir and Ariel Bibas, alongside another body that apparently was not that of their mother, Shiri, the Israeli war machine is furious over this “barbarism, a war crime of the worst kind” and social media is awash with the usual hypocrites condemning Hamas and their allies for displaying the children’s coffins to a chanting crowd before releasing them.
Before getting on to the mayhem in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the main issue I wish to highlight in this article, it is first necessary to divorce myself from those hysterical Israeli calls, as well as from the Muslim Brotherhood aligned Hamas group, even though I know from current Israeli statements and past Israeli form that much worse atrocities are not too far down the road.
Atrocities like when the Israelis burned Palestinian toddler Ali Saad Dawabsh to death in 2015 and then chanted Ali’s on the Grill to his distraught parents as they attended the whitewashing inquest into his murder.
Although I do not want to be among such rabble, I have been in their midst before, at football matches in Belfast, for example, where the Catholics supporting Cliftonville chant La Mon! La Mon! and the Protestant Linfield supporters chant Shankill Butchers! Shankill Butchers!, the La Mon restaurant bombing being the scene of a notorious sectarian massacre by the Catholic IRA, and the Shankill Butchers being Ireland’s most notorious sectarian killers of Catholics. In the context of the Middle East, the Shankill Butchers are particularly noteworthy as they specialised in torturing and maiming their many victims, the objective being to demean them and treat them as less than human, and similar folk from Hitler right down to Netanyahu could and, as the Linfield chants show, do empathise with them.
Although there are tens of thousands of examples of Israelis dehumanising Palestinians, from making pregnant women give birth at the side of the road to raping them in prison, the Syrian rebels gave us no shortage of similar examples. Although I got Irish MPS Clare Daly and Mick Wallace to meet child survivors of the 2017 Fouah and Kafrayah bus bombings and the Homs kindergarten bombings, they were shouted down by the pro Palestinian (ha ha) charlatans of People Before Profit when they raised those war crimes in the Irish Parliament and Sinn Féin aligned thugs, who accompanied us on that Syrian visit, started fist fights on Aleppan rooftops where the rebels had thrown postal workers to their deaths, just because they and their Cliftonville chants were not the centre of attention for their fellow misery tourists.
Although I could enthrall you with other anecdotes from my Syrian adventures, of little Christian girls being repeatedly gang raped, of others being baked alive in bakers’ ovens, of mothers forced to eat their own children and of other rebel crimes far worse than even those, I won’t because, on 7th February 2025, the pro head chopping Mid East Discourse outlet caried a government statement which read: “We urge all media outlets in Syria to refrain from conducting interviews or publishing statements attributed to personalities and figures associated with the former regime, in compliance with national directives to preserve public interest and unity of ranks. Any violation will subject the channel and the entity to immediate legal accountability. We appreciate your cooperation and adherence to professional ethics and not promoting criminals and those involved in the bloodshed and suffering of our people”.
So there you have it. The head hackers have told us not to speak up on behalf of their Syrian, Iraqi and Palestinian victims, such as those children they beheaded in Aleppo and I, for one, am going to sieg heil along with the BBC and every other of their weasels and snakes this side of the River Styx.
Far better I forget the Levant and scroll through social media on my fancy phone, which is run on cobalt child slaves mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the entire world seems to be waging a truly abominable war against the last vestiges of civilisation itself.
If there is any silver lining in the Congo, it is that we (or at least I) can still be shocked. I am referring to the recent beheading of 70 evangelical Christians, babies included, in a church in eastern Congo by the fancifully named Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), which has the CIA’s ISIS franchise in the Congo. Although this is the latest in a very long line of such massacres in the Congo (and in north west Nigeria for that matter), no matter how much it might offend People Before Profit and similar fifth columnists, it has to be roared from the rooftops that those simple evangelical folk have the right to their simple evangelical lives, as well as the right to liberty, the pursuit of happiness and the whole nine yards of all the rest.

Although the UNSC, the CSIS and the American government have all written learned treatises on the ADF, just as with Western Russia and the Alley of the Angels, none of that passes muster in my book. The fact of the matter is the Congo’s own Shankill Butchers are committing abominable crimes not only to feed their own lusts but to feed the bank accounts of their masters in Rwanda and the City of London, and that is a situation up with which we cannot put.
Although the Pope, echoing his empty statement on Iraq, has recently proclaimed that “the erosion of Syria’s Christian communities would be a tragic loss”, such empty blarney simply does not cut it. Although the Russian Armed Forces, to their credit, tried to stem the flow of innocent Syrian blood, American, Qatari, Israeli and Turkish machinations frustrated their best efforts.
If there is to be a credible military intervention in the Congo, that must be spearheaded by the laggards of the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army,with perhaps the Russians anchoring the logistics and the stated objective being to establish, at the point of a million Chinese bayonets, peace and prosperity in the interests of the Congolese.
This is not to leave everyone else out of the picture but it is to say to the predatory nations currently ravishing the Congo that their time is up and it is time to get out of Dodge either feet first or head first. As regards projecting soft power into the Congo, Russians Betsy and Maria Yankovskaya can team up with their Chinese contemporaries as well as with Masaka Kids Africana, a great bunch of Ugandan kids, who have been through hell a thousand times over and have come out not only smiling but dancing like the stars that they are.
A little naive on my part, to be sure, but that is a blessing and not a curse. Although the Israelis feel justified to criticise the Palestinian kids who took to the stage with Hamas when they released the coffins of Kfir and Ariel Bibas, few of those Israelis have experienced the sustained aerial bombardments those kids have. This is not to make excuses for their behaviour but to say that I have been under not dissimilar circumstances more than once on the West Bank and in Syria and, though it was not pleasant for me to get shot by the Israelis in Bil’in or mortared and suicide bombed by their buddies in Damascus, I can appreciate the psychological effects their crimes have on their Syrian, Palestinian and Congolese victims, who are as entitled to their share of the sunny side of the street as are those who incinerate, rape and decaptitate them on an all too regular basis.
