Although you may not have read Chang’s latest screed, if you have ever perused the offerings of any airport book store, you will be familiar with this genre that is full of scary and lurid headlines regarding world domination.

Because Trump’s second coming as POTUS will reach its 100 day milestone by the end of April, I’d planned to compare those 100 days to Napoleon’s 100 days from his St Elba escape to his Waterloo defeat and subsequent abdication, simply because Trump’s 100 days has shaken the world in a manner reminiscent of Napoleon’s 100 days before him. As someone with a background in economics, I was honing in on his tariffs’ war with China and how the market’s various actors were responding when, God pity me, I clicked into Fox Business where I came across the nobody who is Gordon G Chang. According to “China expert Chang”, it will not be Putin’s finest, who will be parading up New York’s Fifth Avenue but Xi’s Chinese chicks who, whatever else about them, sure know how to march in formation.
But let’s leave China’s chicks to one side for now and first wonder why Chang is a China expert, deemed worthy to spew his gruel on Fox Business. The answer to that is Chang, who spent some years as a lawyer in China, wrote a book entitled Plan Red: China’s Project to Destroy America, which explains that China will soon take over the world, unless Hollywood gunslinger Trump can head him off at the pass.
Although you may not have read Chang’s latest screed, if you have ever perused the offerings of any airport book store, you will be familiar with this genre that is full of scary and lurid headlines regarding whichever Hollywood baddy is hell bent on world domination. Japan yesterday, China today and on it goes. Further scratching shows that Chang is also the author of The Coming Collapse of China, meaning that, in Chang’s one eyed world view, China has rapidly gone from being on the verge of total collapse to taking over the world. Though even Napoleon, in his 100 days’ campaign, would have taken his cocked hat off to that Chinese comeback, Chang does not wash with me, as I regard him as nothing more than a charlatan, who writes what his Pentagon paymasters ask him to write. China’s demise today, China’s world domination tomorrow and on it goes.
If you want to get a handle on China, you would be better off reading my article on Russian teenyboppers Betsy and Maria Yankovskaya, whose dance moves, as I then said, are mirrored in these hundreds of thousands of Chinese and Taiwanese videos. Although I have not the foggiest idea why those kids dance like that, I know that Pentagon Pretty Polly parrots like Chang have no insights good, bad or indifferent to the changing cultural currents they typify. They are as clueless about the evolving Chinese and Asian culture those dances represent as they are about changes in Sino-Russian supply chains.
Take this massive Russian truck fair and note that state of the art Russian and Chinese autos dominate it. Watch the video, read the comments appended to it and see that, as things currently stand in the auto world, the West is totally outclassed.
Although Trump wants to bring manufacturing back to America, those dancing Chinese kids personify what his problem is, not by their particular dance moves but by the fact that they, like the Korean K-pop girls they model themselves on, have the free time to do them. Much of this is due to the fact that China has overtaken the United States and is quickly catching up with Singapore and South Korea in making, not widgets, but the robots to make all kinds of widgets and state of the art trucks as well. And, if that is not enough to set off alarm bells with Chang and the Pentagon’s other Pretty Polly parrots, note that China’s robot makers view the United States as not much more than a third rate market they can soon set up shop in. That is how modern tariffs work in a world where Asian robots have left Uncle Sam far behind.
Though Trump is often accused of losing the plot, the evidence overwhelmingly indicates he is losing the race to China and the greater Asian region, who see themselves as something more than dispensable spokes appended to America’s hub.
Much of NATO’s demise can be attributed to the pedestals they allow their pet parrots to perch on. Take this now notorious recent interview on MI6’s BBC, where a couple of white presenters squander five minutes ganging up on Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the Conservative Party, because she does not spend her entire time watching poorly-made Netflix soap operas, which the two BBC parrots wrongly and repeatedly called documentaries. Whatever one may think of Kemi Badenoch and her Tory Party, one can only lament the sheltered workshop for morons that is the BBC. But we get these plum-voiced propagandists shoved down our necks morning, noon and night. Here, to illustrate that point, is the odious Douglas Murray using foul language with Joe Rogan to pretend he has some street credibility as he defends British war criminals of earlier times.
The point being made here is not that odious degenerates like Murray should not be afforded air time, or that the BBC’s parrots should not dishonestly promote NATO’s rival Netflix outfit, or that Pretty Polly Chang should not hawk his uninformed tripe but that we, the people, have a right to be informed and not to have the BBC, Fox Business and similar outfits bombard us with their dross at a time when we need solid information, something that works directly against NATO’s interests.
Russia Today, which I now have to access through a VPN, is infinitely much better in that regard. Though they may also carry some deadweight, they tell things how they are, and when we scratch beneath its surface, we do not find demented Pretty Pollys like Gordon G Chang prattling there. Although NATO could take a leaf out of RT’s playbook, that is not what they are about. NATO are determined to retain their hegemony and to hell with anybody, who points to the absurdity of their position.
Shorn of his lipstick, Trump has declared economic war on China by resorting to tariffs, a tactic that is best used to protect nascent industries and which Japan used, with spectacular success, in its post-War Years. But China is a horse (or should that be a behemoth) of a much different stripe, as its economy is much wider and deeper than Japan’s ever was, and Chang, Trump and the Pentagon’s entire cabal do not appreciate that this is not 1970s’ Japanese cars or Hello Kitty they are dealing with, but they instead face China, an economic colossus, which has the power to change the world in every way, from kids’ street culture and the auto industry to robots, space exploration and beyond. And, if the United States and her European vassals want to compete with any of that, they best first of all jettison the services of overpaid Pretty Polly parrots like Gordon G Chang, Douglas Murray, Fox Business and the BBC.
Although Trump is well on track to beat Napoleon by surviving his first 100 days, all the indications, from those dancing Chinese kids and that Russian auto show to China’s vast array of industrial robots, are that his America, like Napoleon’s France before him, is holed beneath the water line and having Gordon G Chang, Douglas Murray, Fox Business and the BBC huff and puff about it will only make its final demise all the worse. Time to change the tune and the channel as well, perhaps, as tens of millions of Africans and Arabs are already doing, to Russia Today and its Chinese equivalents, which are thriving without the millstones of Gordon G Chang, Douglas Murray, Fox Business and the BBC slowing them down.
