American Information Weapon Used against European Politicians

Anonymous first appeared in 2003 on Internet image boards as a group of hackers espousing the freedom of speech and operating as an «anarchist global digital brain». It is an instrument or a weapon designed to be used in information warfare. It has an advantage – in many cases it is extremely hard to define who exactly used it. But there was no problem of this kind when Anonymous published a 1993 photo report of Angela Merkel visiting the youth club Elbterrassen and meeting with a bunch of skinhead and other friends, one of whom makes a Nazi salute…

EU Expansion Ideology: Gunnar Wiegand, Alain Le Roy and Federica Mogherini

…Today the time is propitious to remember the hackneyed question asked for the first time by Henry Kissinger “Who do I call if I want to call Europe?» Indeed, who should one call to make clear the Brussels’s goals as the EU whips up its anti-Russia rhetoric? Is it Federica Mogherini who still does not know well enough her way around as she took over the present EU position recently and who makes melodramatic statements?.. Or should one call the newly appointed Alain Le Roy who acts as a special advisor to Federica Mogherini till he takes office as the new Secretary General of the EEAS on March 1? Or is it Gunnar Wiegand who keeps on repeating that Russia illegally annexed Crimea and Sebastopol and destabilized the situation in the eastern Ukraine? No fruitful dialogue between Russia and the EU is possible until Europe sees the things the same way as the above mentioned officials do…

Russia-US Agreement on Syrian Chemical Weapons

Scrutinizing the agreement reached by the United States and Russia on Syrian chemical weapons, it is worth to note what Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on September 14 at the final press-conference in Geneva. According to him,   the general aim was to make the Middle East a place “free of WMD.”  It’s clear for all that it is wrong to exclude the issue of Israel’s nuclear arsenal from the Middle East agenda, because the problem is the source of constant tension in the region.  Nothing could provide more solid guarantee that the Iranian nuclear program would remain peaceful than the conversion of the Middle East into the zone free of weapons of mass destruction. As well as nothing would cement more the emerging mutual understanding between America and Russia – the understanding based on practical coordination of efforts in the regions of crucial importance for  maintaining peace on the planet.

Global Irresponsibility

Next week the US Congress is to express its opinion on the reckless and staggering rush of Barack Obama as the President is pressuring the lawmakers to push through his decision to strike Syria. No details are known and they are changing all the time. The military officials have been asked to revise their plans 50 times since the Pentagon first began considering a «limited» action! The White House let know that the President is still pondering the prospect of expanding the list of targets to be hit by US missiles. These ill-boding fluctuations only feed into congressional uncertainty making the lawmakers doubt President Obama really knows what he is doing…

Who is to Stop Rogue President?

…With sharp sarcasm Patrick Buchanan notes that John Andrew Boehner, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, could inform Barack Obama about what the US Constitution says about the President’s war powers. Then the President would know that under the Constitution, in the absence of an attack on the United States, Congress alone has the authority to decide whether the United States goes to war. As Speaker, he can call the House back on Monday to debate, and decide, whether to authorize the war Obama is about to start. In the absence of a Congressional vote for war, Boehner should remind the President that U.S. cruise missile strikes on Syria, killing soldiers and civilians alike, would be the unconstitutional and impeachable acts of a rogue President. Moreover, an attack on Syria would be an act of stupidity on the part of the one who sanctions it…

Is Obama on the Way to Start War Against Syria?

…It’s absolutely not important if it’s Obama who is moving the United States to war or some other forces related to shaping the US foreign policy. The only thing that matters is that these very days, if not hours, it is being decided if the world is ready to reconcile with the idea that a military intervention of the «sole global power» against another state becomes a sinister norm of everyday life after what has already happened in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.
